As long as the demand is high, the LEICA-Co. can print new lists. Unfortunately they seem to have printed far too many recently, so NEX-managers and coll. might jump in one day. Hopefully LEICA prices are reduced when their new WETZLAR-production facilities start functioning. The "new effectivity" should be reflected in a more customerfriendly pricing for the future. So the world evolves........ Price increases are hard on dealers too. If he sells that lens at the old price he still needs to fork over more money for a new one to replace it. I disagree with that actually. He is just making more profit by selling his older stock at a higher price. He paid a lower dealer price on the old stock and will make more profit on it by selling it at the new retail price. Granted he has to expend more capital to replace the old stock when it is sold, but he still makes his profit margin when he sells the new lens at the new price, just not as much as he did on the old stock at the new price. Considering the shortage of both lenses and bodies, I think that many Leica Dealers world-wide are doing a very fast turnover on anything that they buy and therefore should have no trouble getting their investment back quickly with a nice profit to boot. Yes, some interesting new prices. 90/F4 macro set is now £3000, the 50 APO is £5600 and the Noctilux finally reaches £8000:eek:. The bodies seem to be either held at previous prices or have modest increases (film bodies up £50) though the M-E is increased by £300 to the far from "introductory level" price of £4200 (an intriguing move by Leica). The 35 Summarit is also no longer much of a bargain and is now at the fairly mainstream (by Leica standards) price of £1400. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
