mmoore46 Posted March 29, 2013 Share #1 Posted March 29, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Greetings -- I think I must have set some crazy setting without realizing it and cannot find it now to reset: when I am in Manual mode (enough of a challenge already -- I'm learning!) when I take a photo, the display goes dark and count down 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. It's not a self-timer. And my shutter speed seems stuck at 1/8. I'd be so grateful for any tips or advice. Have I skipped, missed, or set the wrong setting somewhere? Thank you so much, in advance -- Best, Michael

Thank you so much, in advance -- Best, Michael Hello Michael, You believe you have set (or your shutter speed is stuck) at 1/8 seconds, but you have actually manually set your shutter speed to 8 seconds, hence the 7 second count down and black screen while theoretically the shutter is open taking the photo. In manual mode, press inwards your top right hand side rear toggle wheel until your shutter speed on the screen display lights up a yellow colour (this wheel is both a press switch and an adjustment wheel), then spin the same wheel towards the right to raise your shutter speed to your desired level. Better still, read your instruction manual! roger anthony
