giulio74 Posted March 27, 2013 Share #1 Posted March 27, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) hi all, is there any way to soft or hard reset my X2 camera, I switched the shutter volume to "silent mode" and now It doesn't start. My first field experience with my new leica x2 was a disaster. Very disappointed. In more that a decade of photography it never happened to me that a digital camera after change a setting stopped to work, no way to use it. Battery removed and reinserted had no effect. Leica Logo appear and the it switchs off. No way to go in menu, any try to reinstall firmware was impossible. Probably It needs a hard reset, but.. how? thanks in advance G

larsv Posted March 27, 2013 Share #2 Posted March 27, 2013 Sounds like a possible firmware failure. Try downloading again the firmware and reinstall firmware.
giulio74 Posted March 28, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted March 28, 2013 Sounds like a possible firmware failure. Try downloading again the firmware and reinstall firmware. As said no way to reinstall firmware, as soon as I turn on the camera after 3 or 4 seconds it stops to work, even with the SD with the new firmware inserted and the info button pressed. larsv Posted March 28, 2013 Share #4 Posted March 28, 2013 Have you tried another sd card? May be a card failure?
giulio74 Posted March 28, 2013 Author Share #5 Posted March 28, 2013 Have you tried another sd card? May be a card failure? thanks for yor help. The sd card is ok, photos were still present. The main problem is that I can't try another SD because as reported in the manual to update the firmware I need a SD previously formatted from the camera. Yesterday I sent a help request to LEICA by mail, no reply yet.
bkxmnr Posted March 29, 2013 Share #6 Posted March 29, 2013 I don't have an X1/2, so forgive me if I sound like a newb, but did you by chance take the battery out and push the power button to drain the capacitors? I would also remove the keep alive battery if it has one. Just thinking out loud really.
