Keith (M) Posted March 26, 2013 Share #1 Posted March 26, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Without boring everyone with the details, my recent experience in resolving a camera problem has shown Red Dot’s customer service to be of the highest level indeed. Undoubtedly Red Dot will now be my first port of call for anything and everything Leica-related. Coincidentally, the latest issue of Black + White Photography magazine has a feature on 'Pre-Owned Camera Retailers' in which the Red Dot shop is described as "quite simply, Leica heaven."

Falstaff Posted March 26, 2013 Share #2 Posted March 26, 2013 Good to see your experience. I have in the past, bought several items from Red Dot, and while I have never had any issues with the items themselves, I have always felt that any problems would have been resolved quickly, painlessly and to my ie customer satisfaction. Ivan Muller Posted March 26, 2013 Share #3 Posted March 26, 2013 I bought a Billingham bag over the phone a continent away and they had it delivered to the right address in London on time as promised...
Michael-IIIf Posted March 27, 2013 Share #4 Posted March 27, 2013 +1 I bought an M2 from them a couple of years ago and the frame spacing wasn't consistent. Under their warranty they took it back and had it corrected. No quibble, no trouble, excellent service.
Peter H Posted March 27, 2013 Share #5 Posted March 27, 2013 I second the good reviews. I've always found them excellent.

250swb Posted March 28, 2013 Share #7 Posted March 28, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have found they are great at resolving problems, I just ask if they are so great in the first place if they sell equipment with problems? A 'fully serviced' IIIF wasted two days of my life when it arrived dirty and with a sticking shutter. And they couldn't have been happier to take it back, but fully serviced should mean fully serviced (and there were other servicing faults), and Exe ++ should mean I don't need to clean off a build up of old finger, face and nose grease. Great service from a camera shop is that they never sell anything that needs taking back or repairing. Assurances that a shop will sort any problems out can also imply that you are the test pilot, you find the problem, you waste your time and film. Grumble over. masjah Posted March 28, 2013 Share #10 Posted March 28, 2013 There's no apostrophe in Red Dot Cameras! There's no flies on Red Dot Cameras. My experience of them is only of uniformly outstanding service (going way beyond what I might reasonably have expected.).

gabriel Posted March 28, 2013 Share #12 Posted March 28, 2013 Always outstanding and knowledgeable service and advice at Red Dot as opposed to the official London Leica Store who do not always know what they are talking about.
earleygallery Posted March 28, 2013 Share #13 Posted March 28, 2013 I've yet to actually buy anything from Red Dot myself, but have met Ivor and Elaine numerous times now at our forum events, and have recommended them to numerous people over the years. CrisRose Posted March 28, 2013 Share #14 Posted March 28, 2013 Excellent experiences buying my M8, SF58 and SF20 flashes, viewfinders among other things, getting my M2 CLAed, testing out a variety of kit both used and new, and they currently have a lens of mine in for a CLA too. Not a single bad word to say.
farnz Posted March 29, 2013 Share #15 Posted March 29, 2013 I've bought and traded a number of items with Red Dot over the years and it's always friendly service from Elaine and Ivor. I bought a used black paint MP whose rewind mechanism jammed after a few months of light use and Ivor had it repaired without a quibble and I had the camera back in my hand within a week. When I've traded gear Red Dot has always been very fair with prices offered and always offered to sell the gear on my behalf if I'd preferred. Pete.
thighslapper Posted April 1, 2013 Share #16 Posted April 1, 2013 Yup, same here. I ordered a 21/3.4 which was listed as in stock.... and wasn't .... and had an apologetic phone call within hours giving the precise date when Leica (it was their fault) would be delivering the missing item ...... arrived as promised. Nice friendly and helpful folk....
Red Dot Cameras Posted April 9, 2013 Share #17 Posted April 9, 2013 Thank you very much for the kind words. Our approach to business is to provide the sort of service that we would like to receive when shopping. Whilst no-one can get it right 100% of the time, we do try to achieve this level. Look forward to meeting you on the Shard trip later this month. Elaine & Ivor
