Guest Duane Pandorf Posted March 23, 2013 Share #5 Posted March 23, 2013 And your impressions of the new M were? I only got a couple minutes with the new M after Riccis handled it. I threw an SD card in the took a few shots. The camera had a 35mm Summilux attached. As I'm very happy with my recent M-E purchase my interest in handling the M was not the same as many of you who are on a waiting list and are interested in all the little details. I can say with my short time using a Leica M the shutter is different than the M-E and I did like the LED framelines. I didn't bother trying to figure out how to use the EVF nor did in to the menu other than to format my SD card and to adjust the ISO to 800. The added thumb "grip" was nice too and holding the camera with the 35 Lux compared to my M-E with 50 Lux felt about the same. Could not really tell any width difference either. But I'm sure if I had more time with the camera these other little nuances would have become apparent. Maybe not. But then its still a rangefinder camera! Guest Duane Pandorf Posted March 23, 2013 Share #6 Posted March 23, 2013 I look forward to seeing the shop next time Im in miami. Also, I think you have a partial pic of Bruce Gilden in there...I know (by way of a Facebook update) that he was there the day before too He was with a group towards the front door when I arrived. Like a fish out of water I came into the store knowing I have a lot to learn and most all the faces there were unknown to me other than David Farkas and Jim Wagner. Jager Posted March 23, 2013 Share #9 Posted March 23, 2013 Nice images, Duane... I have deeply enjoyed having the DC Leica Store close by - a venue which is less a about product and more about photography itself, than any other "camera store" I've ever been in - and I'm glad Florida will be able to enjoy that same richness.
