K-H,

A gorgeous sunset with great colors. What is on the summit of the mountains? It looks like a forest of light poles. Perhaps the remnants of a forest fire?

The colors we get around here can be very intense!

More burnt trees. The trunks may last for decades.

K-H,

A great shot. The sight of those wildfires burning along that ridge

must have been a terrifying experience.

Hi Dee,

We had the Cerro Grande Fire in May 2000 Cerro Grande Fire - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and the

Las Conchas Fire in June 2011 Las Conchas Fire - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

For the Cerro Grande Fire we had to evacuate.

For the Las Conchas Fire we only evacuated our horses as a precaution. But Los Alamos had to evacuate again.

The latter fire I documented here: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/landscape-travel/188749-las-conchas-wildfire.html
