Do Digilux 2 photos have distinctive look?

House from my wife's uncle, everything has been left there as it was hundred years or more ago, quiet a pleasant feeling! Wachenheim, Germany.

Whoa... what happened here?

Did you process these. Contrast and saturation is really strong... blacks and reds in some places are completely closed up.

Sorry... I would have never pegged these as Digilux 2 jpegs.

John, yes these were PP which i think it stays with kind of scenery.

Well, if I can offer another view/eye....

The black in the sunflower has completely wiped out any detail of the flower's center. The lettering on the Heinz bottle is all scrunchy. The shadows in the veins of the leaves have black blobs in them and the white label/lettering on the soda bottle is blown out completely.

In the second image, all of the shadow detail has become a black drop block... no shadow gradient at all. Also, the wall detail is blown out on the right and again, black in the shadows.

Honestly, I understand going for the mood... but from my perspective, these are totally void of subtlety and detail.

Too much saturation, too much contrast and over sharpened. I'd suggest first coaxing the shadow detail up to where it's just moody enough.... perhaps using a shadow/highlight tool where you can also control the tone. Then add to the vibrancy of the colors... not so much the saturation which tends to clog up reds. A very slight amount of vignette could add to the mood and lastly... (always last) just a touch of unsharpen mask.

Digilux 2 files are very fragile. They're large pixels and not a lot of them. You need to tip toe very gently.

But, hey... maybe I'm wrong. But these issues jumped right out at me...

Shot these over the weekends. Images are approximately 20 minutes apart with the last one shot at 8PM - 1/8 sec. f/2 - hand held. Gotta love the Diglux 2.

That's true, Vlad, that looks lovely... And in fact the processing here and the tones match the retro look of the camera.. I have mine for only 3 weeks now, but.... love at first sight!

John, lovely series of changing in light. I also found that it is quite easy to shoot slow speed shots.

Ok... the image quality on the Orchid is totally off the hook. Are you kidding me? How can an image get any better than that? Wow!

How did you light it? I see you shot it aperture preferred at f/2.1 and 1/160th... ISO 100, with no flash. Did you hand hold it?

Man that is nice.

After that Orchid, I'm not sure I want to post these. LOL - These are a few I shot in my backyard walking to breakfast this weekend. Talk about a spectacular morning.. light and conditions were out of this world.

Seems to me your backyard is just about liveable............................even if it were a grey day.
