The old-fashioned sign font reminded me of the 1930s pictures where coffee was a nickel and burgers 15 cents. I suppose BW probably goes better with the nostalgia idea, though I tend to prefer the color version.

OK, here's the version that Paul suggested:

 

(I put it into LR and made a version with the Sepia Preset, but this looked 1890s instead of 1930s. So I put the sepia version as a Layer on top of the original file and reduced its opacity to 50%. Maybe still too much?
