Iduna Posted March 8, 2013 Share #1  Posted March 8, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) since there was not to much rush on a grey sunday morning and one of these fellows did enjoy his meal openly. All the wooden bridges over their territory were closed due to slippery planks and so they felt somewhat relaxed. There was a fence and this was almost being dissolved by the lens. Eventually patterns on the snow were slightly reduced by dodging.  Bielefeld, Tierpark Olderdissen   Welcome, dear visitor! pauledell Posted March 8, 2013 Share #2 Â Posted March 8, 2013 Iduna, Â An excellent series. A rare opportunity to get shots like these. Â Paul
fotografr Posted March 8, 2013 Share #3 Â Posted March 8, 2013 Gorgeous color and razor sharpness. The last image completely removes the traces of fence. These creatures are magnificent and it's saddening to see a revival of wolf hunting in many US states.
Iduna Posted March 8, 2013 Author Share #4 Â Posted March 8, 2013 Paul, Â many thanks for commenting. Yes, whenenver I go to this place there is no guarantee at all to see these animals even, sometimes only you can only notice a moving shadow. This was the first time ad my very first encounter. Â Brent, Â thank you for our response and it makes me happy and will encourage me for more (using my new R-Telyt 250mm). Watching their behaviour need patience and will be certainly very interesting in terms of social studies. Knowing these species better would probably help protecting them more. Here in Europe one can notice a return and with this nature will get back to more balance referring to reducing deer overpopulation etc.

vdb Posted March 8, 2013 Share #7 Â Posted March 8, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Since reintroduction of the wolf in the US we have killed off over a thousand of them. Now Wyoming has opened hunting. It's insanity. There is no justification for the killing of these magnificent creatures.

Yes, it is a sad fact, that mankind is rude and mentally not in a proper state of mind to recognize itself as part of nature. Â Dee, many thanks for our encourageing comment. stuny Posted March 9, 2013 Share #10 Â Posted March 9, 2013 Iduna - Â Terrific, and I especially like that in the last you shot without going through a fence. Â About a year ago we went to a wolf preserve (rescued wolves) in New Jersey(!). Photos on our site.
Iduna Posted March 9, 2013 Author Share #11 Â Posted March 9, 2013 Stuart, Â thanks a lot for our appreciated comment. I went to your homepage and studied your marvellous collection of wolves. The portraits and profile protraits are great. Specially the British Columbia Wolf is impressive and most amazing those white wolves with autumn coloured backdrop. Northwest Wanderer Posted March 10, 2013 Share #14 Â Posted March 10, 2013 Iduna, Â Nice collection of images. The third image is really spot on. I live in wolf country. I'm also sad to say wolf hunting and trapping is legal in my state (Idaho).
