philipus Posted March 7, 2013 Share #3 Posted March 7, 2013 I always thought the shutter release was meant to do just that without additional assistance. Much like the camera body was meant to protect what's inside

Don't worry, forums can be like that, helpful one moment and downright *?*$% the next. Anywhere where there is a large gathering of people really. Very nice products though, thanks for sharing! wattsy Posted March 8, 2013 Share #9 Posted March 8, 2013 (edited) Rather grandiose claims on the website from what is essentially a manufacturer of a little wooden knick·knack: "Artisan Obscura is a collaboration of people with an eye for style, detail, and design. We strive to bring back American heritage, the old world craftsmanship that photography once knew. ..[inspired] to solve the ergonomic and aesthetic problems that exist with off-the-shelf photographic tools and we hope the result is that you will be more excited to get out into the world and create." Orient XI Posted October 28, 2013 Share #10 Posted October 28, 2013 I wouldn't recommend the use of the button of olive wood. I once left a steel wood turning chisel in contact with some olive turnings. Result, serious corrosion after one week.
stuny Posted October 29, 2013 Share #11 Posted October 29, 2013 Their site lists the M (240) as one of the cameras for which they have a compatible unit.

smb Posted November 2, 2013 Share #15 Posted November 2, 2013 Lovely items but I can't use them. When there is film in my camera I leave the shutter cocked for the next shot and too often with a shutter release attached to the camera it is easily pressed when putting it in or taking it out of the camera bag. 250swb Posted November 18, 2013 Share #19 Posted November 18, 2013 "We strive to bring back American heritage, the old world craftsmanship that photography once knew. .." I suppose 'Artisan Obscura' sounds better than 'craftsman in the dark' but what has Latin to do with American heritage, unless somebody thinks Hollywood 'sword and sandal' epic's are real Steve
