Water Trough

Birds flock to my horses water trough in winter to get a drink. Open water is hard to find so the competition for a drink causes the birds to act a little aggressively. I found this image worked best altered to look like a drawing. It's a fun image.

Bill,

Liked it so much, I downloaded into IPhoto here! With you're permission of course.

I love the ___hmmm___effect it has!

At you're temps, how to keep your water from ferrying in seconds?

We love have and love our horse also.

Thanks Iduna,

I wasn't sure if I would post the image. It's simple and not anything special but the four birds are so funny to look at, I couldn't resist posting it.The birds hang around to get water and eat the seeds that fall from the horse hay.

Glad you like it.

Sure George, you are welcome to use the image as you wish. Happy to share a little fun.

As for keeping water from freezing, I have an electric heating element that screws into the bottom of the water through. It keeps the water temperature just above freezing.

Bill,

this one is equally funny. You have a good eye for some such situations. Many thanks for providing some laughter (aloud alone in front of my PC). The birds in fact look a bit like little hunchbacks on Broken Bone Ranch.

Bill,

I am glad you posted these, they are both terrific. I love the loudmouth in the first, along with your treatment of the image. The second has a delightful graphic feel to it. Thanks for posting them. Keep them coming, please!
