No snow, but I never tire of wandering along the Merced river in the stillness of winter to capture these reflections

El Cap winter morning reflection along the Merced River MM 21/2.8

Just upstream from the previous shot is a frozen section of the river, that is always in the shade. A bit tricky to capture without sliding on the icy bank into the river and ruining my shot, as well as the scene in general. MM 50/1.4 25% crop

Further east along the Merced is this beautiful bend in the river, afternoon light MM 21/2.8

thank you, as always, for looking

Thank you everyone for your kind comments, and for tapping the thank you button. As I mentioned in another thread, Yosemite in the winter is very different, calming and quiet. Being immersed in this world with so many photographers per capita is also quite an experience. You can sense the common connection of excitement, awe and appreciation of such a dramatic place.

Having viewed all your Yosemite posts, I cannot help but think how very fortunate you are to have ready access to what must truly be one of the world's greatest and most impressively beautiful photographic sites.

This particular area, as well as having been immortalised by Ansel Adams, is the absolute embodiment of all that is sublime in landscape photography.

If I sound envious it is probably because I am!!
