Rick Posted February 10, 2013 Share #1 Posted February 10, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've read the search results and I still am not sure which specific ND filters would fit with the first lens hood design of my 35 FLE. My Hoya filters don't fit. Could use some help.

FPB Posted February 10, 2013 Share #2 Posted February 10, 2013 Hi, B+W F-Pro E46 MRC filters fit with lens hood #12465. Not sure what the first lens hood design was / is. Hope that helps. Bill
MarkP Posted February 10, 2013 Share #3 Posted February 10, 2013 Hi Rick, my 35 FLE (bought ~July 2010) and 21 SEM (bought ~Jan 2012) have exactly the same hood and I keep Leica filters on both. The Leica filters fit under both hoods but the B+W ND only fits under that of the SEM. Most non-Leica filters seem to have the slightest increase in diameter of the filter ring so that it overhangs the edge of the lens barrel. The design must have been changed at some time between production of my two lenses. However, as I don't need an ND on an f3.4 lens I've just swapped the hoods over. I wonder whether Leica would exchange the hood for a newer one as the modification suggests they identified the design fault. Mark
pedaes Posted February 10, 2013 Share #4 Posted February 10, 2013 The B+W F-pro ND's fit fine. There is clearance for the hood to fit over (just tried it to make sure!)

Mark I have done the same now, but I did bring it up with Solms last year and never got a decent answer about the change....certainly no offer to swap the shade! john
