Meniscus Lens 6-bit Coding?

I have a Kodak 116 box camera whose meniscus lens has terrible flare and vignetting, but no chromatic aberration that I can detect, since it is only for black & white. It will be a back-up for a Leica M Mono, for my trip to the Himalayas.

Where can I get the lens 6-bit encoded ? I'm having a devil of a time locating the bayonet mount holding that lens to the camera. I tried calling Kodak and asking for the fellow that sold the camera to my grandfather, but nobody knew where he was.

I suggest you simply revert to using film in the Box camera.

Here's some advice which should help you;

Using 120 film in your 116 film camera. - Photo.net Classic Manual Cameras Forum

Of course it does mean carrying an extra camera, but then the box camera is probably lighter than an M mount adaptor for the lens (if you can find one!!), and I'm pretty sure that the Kodak Box cameras didn't have electronic shutters or metering so you also have a handy back-up camera if your MM should fail.

Next question, do you have a bag which will fit your Leica and Kodak cameras?
