They just get slower and slower. I've also had them freeze and crash, and fail due to virus infections (even with Norton software). I can only speak from my own experience with Macs and an old PowerBook I picked up was faster than my last windows laptop. My MacBook and mini run fine, not had ant freezing/crashes so far. As I said, maybe if one wants to customise and meddle with their computer a windows one is better. I'm sure there are ways to avoid the glitches, but it seems to me, with a Mac I largely don't have to worry about that stuff. That's why I'm a convert!
