Not sure if this has already been posted but Panasonic have posted official sample shots from the DMC L1.

DMC-L1 | PRODUCTS | LUMIX | Digital Camera | Panasonic

Although I'm still a beginner the first shot shows lots of detail and the colour looks pretty spot on to me. I would have liked them to have posted a couple of ISO400/800 shots too just to see if they've managed to fix the banding issue thats been seen in ISO400-1600 shots taken with pre-production models. Here's an example of the banding at ISo800 and comparison with a Sony Alpha 100 (wasn't able to find the same sample shots from a Nikon D200 or 30D)

Judging by what is there it will be a 400iso max camera just as the Olys are. If only someone took images of the blue sky then we would be able to know what is really happening about high iso noise

all these sample photos know so far seem to avoid motifs which could really tell us about the real capabilities (or non-capabilities) ... but I think this is comon practise in this market. :(

we'll have to wait until the first (critical/objective) enthusiasts will post pictures taken with bought cameras out of serial production.

from what I've seen until know the L1 seems to be a follow up of the LC1 ... pity we won't see a LC2 / Digilux 3 [non-dSLR]

Sure Max but the Sony had a crappy kit lens, I am sure it will be a different story with a sharper Zeiss lenses

Or even the older G class Minolta lenses, which is more likely. At Sony's Morocco Press event there were some invitees present with better lenses (the 100/2.8 macro was mentioned). The counterpoint to that is the ZD 50/2 on the L-1.
