Iduna Posted November 22, 2012 Share #1 Posted November 22, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) When roaming through the quiet morning beech tree forest oen could only hear a slight breeze and the sound of falling leaves. How to frame this? A few sunrays fell on the beech tree and I waited for a light gush of wind. High ISO was nececssary to get the leaves sharp with a shutterspeed of 1/250. An experiment of of several shots was neccessary, but time for this was limited because of fading light. Thanks for looking

pauledell Posted November 22, 2012 Share #2 Posted November 22, 2012 Iduna, The fine balance of the bright colors at the top and bottom of the picture with the mysterious subtle dark area in the middle accentuate the falling leaves, "What's down there?" one asks. Iduna Posted November 23, 2012 Author Share #3 Posted November 23, 2012 Paul, thanks for your comment and your question. I suspected someone would ask. It is a bridge there in the dark. This bridge was difficult to bring out avoiding noise. I'll think about some PSE layerwork. But to have a hidden story behind the curtain is part of the theatrical forest. fotografr Posted November 23, 2012 Share #4 Posted November 23, 2012 Another lovely image in your woodland series. I immediately noticed that two of the leaves look very much like a pair of sinister eyes looking out of the darkness.

Oh, yes you are right, I did not notice so far, maybe it is the spirit of the place taking alook who's intruding and taking his soul.... k-hawinkler Posted November 23, 2012 Share #6 Posted November 23, 2012 .. Or the ghost of "Hermann der Cherusker" ... Great composition, mood, and colors!
Iduna Posted November 23, 2012 Author Share #7 Posted November 23, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) K.-H., thanks a lot for your comment, which is most welcome. Great idea, the "ghost" of Herman is there. His monument is just round the corner. This area with its forests and brooks is no area for battles but for stories and secrets and a rich local history (the Romans had no chance for a long survival).
