miger Posted November 18, 2012 Share #1 Posted November 18, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I recently purchased a new 50 Summilux ASPH and noticed that the images in the rangefinder do not align perfectly when focusing. When two vertical lines are coming together when focusing, the lines are not completely parallel. This appears to be more pronounced at the minimum focusing distance and the lens has some front focusing. I was wondering if this was normal with all Summilux lenses. Advertisement Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Hi miger, Take a look here Leica 50 Summilux ASPH focusing issue. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
segedi Posted November 18, 2012 Share #2 Posted November 18, 2012 I think this is mostly a function of rangefinders in general. It's much more pronounced when shooting lines that are at a diagonal to the plane of focus.
tele_player Posted November 18, 2012 Share #3 Posted November 18, 2012 It should be mentioned - this has nothing to do with the lens.
