M lenses will last forever, no matter what body you put them on. The "Panaleicas", the D-Lux and the V-Lux models, are also very capable. Depends what photography you want to pursue and your budget. Read the links provided above, I did when I first joined. I just bought my first M camera after much study and deliberation and haven't looked back.
