Advertisement Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Hi Dr.Kildare, Take a look here M9P and Lenses Stolen, Sydney Australia. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
erl Posted October 26, 2012 Share #2 Posted October 26, 2012 That's really bad news. Glad you are insured. May be worth alerting dealers and Camera Clinic in Melbourne who are the authorized repairers in Oz. If service is everrequired on the gear, they may pick it up. La Morte Posted October 26, 2012 Share #3 Posted October 26, 2012 I feel for you. I was thinking of how to booby-trap cameras as to blow-up or something when they gets stolen! It is a human sickness, this thing of taking things that do not belong to you! As I was held-up at gun-point and my kit was taken, I am just being hate-full and don't really want to blow thief's up. Good luck with the insurance. Mine only paid-out one third of total. Streamlight Photography
MarkP Posted October 26, 2012 Share #4 Posted October 26, 2012 Awful news Chris. Hopefully you're fully insured but of course it wil be the wait for new lenses that will be frustrating. Where do you live in Sydney? Also, watch out on Gumtree across Australia. A lot of very suspicious sales there. Regards, Mark
enboe Posted October 26, 2012 Share #5 Posted October 26, 2012 I am sorry to hear about your loss. I don't know if it is within the guidelines of the forum, but perhaps our collective eyes can help you locate replacement items. For example, I was at Colonial Photo in Orlando last Saturday and noted they have two new 35/1.4/FLE lenses in stock. I hope the insurance and reacquisition processes go swiftly and without complication for you. Eric

Regards, Mark If those Gumtree items were genuine it would be worth taking the 2 x 22 hour flights from the UK . I hope you (Chris) get some resolution to your tragic loss. I have already met with the insurance assessor so that is all under control. Chris
