Advertisement Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Hi ophyls, Take a look here M9P meets M9P Hermes. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wattsy Posted October 25, 2012 Share #2 Posted October 25, 2012 IMO the M9 proportions look all wrong without the hotshoe.
Lee Martin Posted October 25, 2012 Share #3 Posted October 25, 2012 Absolute class on all accounts and great to see them both being used. Well done and I hope you enjoy every moment.

IWC Doppel Posted October 25, 2012 Share #5 Posted October 25, 2012 Lovely, the Hermes looks fabulous. I wonder with a bit of romance if you might find a little Paul Smith X2 appearing
jbl Posted October 25, 2012 Share #6 Posted October 25, 2012 Gorgeous. Great to see you're planning to shoot with it! -jbl
gravastar Posted October 25, 2012 Share #7 Posted October 25, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Most unusual . Do you find the chrome Noctilux ASPH to be very heavy and make the camera lens combination unbalanced, especially when hanging on the strap? Bob. pico Posted October 25, 2012 Share #8 Posted October 25, 2012 (edited) IMO the M9 proportions look all wrong without the hotshoe. Oh, I disagree, Ian. The less functional, less 'camera' appearance is better. A great poseur piece. But what cap, what accessories to go with it? And really, is this bag really appropriate? . Guest borge Posted October 25, 2012 Share #9 Posted October 25, 2012 Am I allowed to be honest? I love the looks of your M9-P, but...
Mike Geng Posted October 25, 2012 Share #10 Posted October 25, 2012 Nice, thanks for sharing. Glad to see it is being used, and not locked in a safe. Never did understand the mentality behind those that lock this stuff away. If you can afford it, you can afford to shoot it.
LeicaMSeattle Posted October 26, 2012 Share #11 Posted October 26, 2012 It's nice to see owner photographs of their Hermes M9. It'll be interesting to see how the light color leather will wear as the camera is used. I'm surprised that Hermes didn't make a half case for it as well along with their meticulously crafted kit bag.
ophyls Posted October 26, 2012 Author Share #12 Posted October 26, 2012 In truth, I tend to still use my Billingham Bag which is a little more spacious than the Hermes bag....the bag is what I store! The Noctilux on the Hermes M9P feels no different when compared with the Noct on my standard M9P. The strap for the Hermes is a little thin though and I am scouting around for another Ciesta 1/2 case with strap to go with it. Won;t be able to find a colour to match the leather so will just go with black I guess.... I put the Leica hand grip on but it doesn;t look very nice and the camera itself is difficult to hold and grip as with all M9s.
wattsy Posted October 26, 2012 Share #13 Posted October 26, 2012 Oh, I disagree, Ian. The less functional, less 'camera' appearance is better. A great poseur piece. But what cap, what accessories to go with it? And really, is this bag really appropriate? I don't mind the bag and I think I'd like the strap but you won't convince me that the "less functional, less 'camera' appearance is better". The lack of hotshoe, sculpted lines and the notched edge just serves to emphasise the lardiness of the basic M9 design – it just looks all wrong. I'm also not keen on the rear where you see a mixture of chrome, black plastic and tan leather (it reminds me of some of the less successful à la carte MP combinations). Showing the camera next to the standard M9P only serves to demonstrate how attractive the design of that camera is (IMO the black M9P is by far the most attractive digital M camera yet). That said, we all like different things and I appreciate the OP posting the photos here.
wattsy Posted October 26, 2012 Share #14 Posted October 26, 2012 Do you find the chrome Noctilux ASPH to be very heavy and make the camera lens combination unbalanced I believe the chrome Noctilux is the same weight as the standard black version. The shell is anodised aluminium not brass.
Tonki-M Posted October 31, 2012 Share #15 Posted October 31, 2012 the stunningly beautiful M9P looks rather pale in the presence of the Edition Hermes
IWC Doppel Posted October 31, 2012 Share #16 Posted October 31, 2012 Very curious if when you take it out anyone know what it is ? I bet they think it's striking even if they have no idea about Leica
luigi bertolotti Posted October 31, 2012 Share #17 Posted October 31, 2012 the stunningly beautiful M9P looks rather pale in the presence of the Edition Hermes ... but, personally, I prefer the look of the M9P std.
rafael_macia Posted November 1, 2012 Share #18 Posted November 1, 2012 Why is there no accessory shoe ? What would be the reason for doing that ?
philipus Posted November 1, 2012 Share #19 Posted November 1, 2012 Oh, I disagree, Ian. The less functional, less 'camera' appearance is better. A great poseur piece. But what cap, what accessories to go with it? And really, is this bag really appropriate? . Thanks for posting photos of this camera in the wild. I'm in two minds about this edition, though. In particular, I'm wondering how the "Veau Swift" leather will handle sweat etc from fingers and hands after more extended use. My guess is that it will not wear well. I'm happy, though, that there's at least one owner who will find out. To add to Pico's question; what clothes should one wear with this camera? jonoslack Posted November 1, 2012 Share #20 Posted November 1, 2012 Thanks for showing it - it looks lovely (I think), Glad to hear you're using it. . . . . I was in Berlin when it was announced . . . standing next to Jaap, who's silver M9p had identical coloured leather - it looked startlingly the same, and just for a moment I thought he already had one! all the best
