sanyasi Posted October 24, 2012 Share #1 Posted October 24, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am curious, do the film types in Silver Effects replicate the look of the particular film type if the file is from a Monocrhom. I was reading about colored filters in an old Kodak filter guide and the suggestion was that different films respond to colored filters differently. That makes sense, but when you are choosing a film type in Silver Effects, you are applying it to a a file without any color information, so I would assume that like the colored filters in Silver Effects, selecting film type with a monocrhom file produces a different result than if the file came out of an M9. Guest WPalank Posted October 25, 2012 Share #2 Posted October 25, 2012 Well as you know by now, the Filters in SEP2 have no effect on a Monochrom image, where they do work on a M9 image. Basically your only choice, in a way, is to actually buy Color Contrast Filters like many B&W film photographers used to and still do use. Problem is you have to buy the screw on types, until bloody Lee Filters comes out with the Rangefinder Holder they have been promising for about a year. Also, these Filters are very difficult to locate. Anticipating I may purchase a 50 APO, I have bought filters for my 60mm, 46mm, and 39mm (APO). the colors I have chosen are. Pale Yellow, Yellow-Orange, Dark Red, Yellow-Green, and Green. I have accumulated close to all of them. I was recently told by an experienced dealer that Heliopan will no longer manufacture Yellow-Green and Green. Even thought they are wiping off the dust and cranking up the machines to create some of the other Filters again. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
