sanyasi Posted October 24, 2012 Share #1 Β Posted October 24, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I generally don't like HDR, but I was curious what HDR would do to a black and white photograph. I used five exposures in the Nik HDR program. Surprisingly--at least to me--the result looked pretty much like a solarization filter had been applied. Β Is this what people would expect? Thanks. sanyasi Posted October 25, 2012 Author Share #2 Β Posted October 25, 2012 I have done a little more experimenting. The photos I have used are well distributed in terms of tones. Using more than a few seems to result in something that looks solarized. I did an experiment with one dark one and one lighter one and got a result that had the straightforward look I wanted. I suspect that Photoshop layering and masking may be the better way to go, but I need to learn more about how to do it.
