Can anyone please tell of a simple way to edit a page in the Leica Camera Forum Wiki to amend information relating to a serial number of a Tele-Elmarit - M 1:2.8 / 90mm -1987

Both Luigi and I have tried to do this but so far we've both failed

My thread in the Leica M Lenses section under the title 'Leica Lens Serial numbers' will give you more information

Best wishes

Mike

I opened this thread on the 23rd hoping that I might get an answer on how to edit a Wiki page relating to the serial number of a particular lens which needs some clarification. Luigi Bertolotti and I have been trying various ways but with no success. I see there have been a few viewings but as of yet no solutions. Is this because this thread is posted in the wrong place or is it because nobody know what to do to be able to EDIT Wiki??

Should it be the case its in the wrong place I wonder if one of the moderators might help me and move it please!!!

Best wishes

Mike

It's exactly as JCBraconi says. Since the WIKI is an entirely different system from the forum, you have to register there as well.

Register on the bottom of the WIKI's home page. Going to this page should work as well: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-wiki.en/index.php?title=Special:Userlogin&type=signup&returnto=Main_Page

As soon as you are registered and logged in to the WIKI, you'll find an additional register near the top of the page which says "edit".

However, once you are registered and logged in, it's exactly as Andy says. You have to familiarize yourself with the formatting method of the MediaWiki software.

Thank you for those comments, I was beginning to think that I was in the wrong place, however I believe I tried the suggestions before I started the thread and couldn't even get past the registration page.

So if it fails again I'll contact the gentleman thats been suggested. Its nothing life threatening but its bugging me and now I've started I want to finish it.

Best wishes

Mike :)
