boxing_cam Posted October 23, 2012 Share #1  Posted October 23, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi guys. I'm new to the forum and wanted to introduce myself and explain to you all why I decided to get into rangefinder shooting. I bored a friend's M9 for a few days while she was at work and I was hooked. I decided to purchase myself a M8.2 with an early 35mm f/2.8 lens. The body should arrive in a few days (am so excited) my hobbies include boxing (was amateur), lifting, women , style - particularly british style, I have a blog if anyone is interested! Photography, fashion, sports (rugby, polo),  as you can see my interests are quite varied and I hope this will enable me to better enjoy my new Leica  P.S., the wealth of knowledge here is mind-blowing and I spent hours reading through all the posts before settling on what camera to buy.  Best (and look forward to chatting with some of you, soon),  Cam

NZDavid Posted October 23, 2012 Share #2  Posted October 23, 2012 Hi Cam, welcome! A few Kiwis here, quite a few Aussies so they need watching! Where are you based? Look forward to your posts and pics. You will enjoy your M. Only trouble is Leicas are addictive -- and expensive!  Best, David  http://www.davidkillick.co.nz

J_Thompson Posted October 26, 2012 Share #6 Â Posted October 26, 2012 Welcome to the Forum, Cam, and good luck with your new purchase. One question about your hobbies, though... how does "lifting women" work?

EJohnE Posted October 29, 2012 Share #8 Â Posted October 29, 2012 Cor. Lifting women! Welcome, strong fellow. I used to love the dawn Ariel Square Four, and later BMW R75 trips from Opotiki back to work in Kawerau through tie gorge and that crazy narrow rail/road bridge near Te Teko. I have noticed that NZDavid uses USA spelling with z replacing the civilised (-zed). I suspect he was not born to the grass skirt and chin tattoo as were the rest of us alledged sheep lovers. John. I suspect it's as simple as his written word having been surreptitiously transmogrified by an 'Amurcanized' speel chucker. Â Pete.
NZDavid Posted October 30, 2012 Share #10 Â Posted October 30, 2012 Thank you for spotting that. My Mac has an American spell checker as I have done some writing for US mags. I also have some friends and rellies in the US (as well as the UK). American spelling does save on extra use of the "u" key! Actually, "ize" for "ise" is the preferred Oxford English spelling, not exclusively US spelling.
