For me, there is some air at the top of the frame which I think the picture could do without - if it were cropped somewhere through the upper part of the hatband, the eyes would be on a plane which emphasised them more, maybe with better effect. Robert, I debated this issue with myself for some time. I chose this framing to underscore the diminutive size of this older man and to nestle him off center. He really is quite tiny.
