Michael Geschlecht Posted October 19, 2012 Share #2 ย Posted October 19, 2012 Hello Neal, ย Nice photo. ย I think the people who read "Faszination Eisenbahn" in "Technik + Industrie" in the German Forum would like to see this picture. ย You might also like seeing some other rolling stock from other parts of the World. ย Best Regards, ย Michael

neal Posted October 19, 2012 Author Share #4 ย Posted October 19, 2012 Stuart, #60 is a 2-8-0 consolidation built by the American Locomotive Co. in 1937. She just finished a 12 year complete rebuild. She runs between Ringoes NJ and Flemington NJ, when she was running before the rebuild she ran daily. I'm not sure what the plans are now, I'm sure they will run her on weekends. Right now they are training new crews so they aren't taking passengers yet. They do hope to reopen the line to Lambertville NJ, possibly next summer. That would make a run from Flemington to Lambertville about 15 miles, and both big shopping towns.

pauledell Posted October 21, 2012 Share #6 ย Posted October 21, 2012 Neal, ย I love pictures of the old steam locomotives. They bring back lots of memories. Of course, this engine is much older than the ones I seen as a boy back in the 1950's. ย Paul
Olsen Posted October 23, 2012 Share #7 ย Posted October 23, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I sold my M8 (and previously my MP) to a guy that has specialised his train spotting photography here in Norway. His was very experienced in this and had a huge collection of train photos of high quality to show me. This particular American locomotive looks very similar to the many steam locomotives that the Germans left behind here in Norway after the 5 year WWII ocupation; a model we call 'Big German' ('Stor Tysker'): NSB type 63 - Wikipedia ย In my childhood in the late 50' it was this type of locomotives that pulled the night trains between Oslo and Bergen (Bergensbanen): http://www.google.no/search?sourceid=navclient&hl=en-GB&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4SUNC_noNO368NO369&q=bergensbanen
