Olsen Posted October 13, 2012 Author Share #5 Posted October 13, 2012 M8/WATE In Sweden and Norway it is against the rules to bring heavy camera equipment with you when flying gliders. So, I seldom did. But here the light weight and compactness of the Leica is an advantage.

Olsen Posted October 13, 2012 Author Share #12 Posted October 13, 2012 Nose almost streight down - while standing on the pedals and fumbling with the camera, racing towards the asphalt. Don't try this at home....

Don't try this at home.... Do you know what I liked most in your pixes ? the wool thread affixed on your canopy. It reminded me of the ones attached to the pitot tube pylon on the Grünau, Rhönbusard and other Kranich or C-800 I flew in the early 50s. That was really "flying with the ass", and made real pilots. In fact, this wool thread was the only "instrument" available on the Zögling, wasn't it ? But maybe all these gliders' names are unknown to you, young man ? (I was licensed in 1948...) Don't try this at home.... And why not to add - for my own pleasure and spleen at least - pictures[ATTACH]345789 of the beloved Rhönbusard I flew so many times (taken mith a IIIc/Summitar by a friend flying a Spatz, 1,200 meters above Temploux airfield, Belgium), and of the Fauvel AV-36 I also flew at Valenciennes, France (M3/Summicron 50 photo) ?
