Seem to recall reading somewhere long ago that early batches were prone to dust in the viewfinder, which was subsequently sealed in production to cure the problem. There might be something to it, there might not. Could be worth doing some research.

The film speed dial was changed to the current version around 2003. Probably taken from the M7.

You won't regret the purchase.

The very first ones had issues with dust accumulating just inside the eyepiece glass. Leica cleans and seals this free of charge. The ISO dial was changed very early in the production run, from the M6TTL to the current type. No other changes that I know of.

Note: My frame selector mechanism, both automatic and lens-coupled, stopped working after the 5 year Passport. I sent a copy of my Passport card anyway just to show I was the original owner. Repair was complimentary.

A camera for a lifetime.

Well done, Leica charged me £60 to clean dust out of the viewfinder window, an acknowledged fault at the time. A particularly mean expression of customer service.

If your camera has ever been back to have dust cleaned out it probably got the mod. Mine hasn't had any dust since, fingers crossed. And yes the ISO/DIN dial is the more attractive M6 TTL type.
