Thanks, Howard. I read Bob's comment exactly backwards. I was confusing the mrc because I believe the IR-cut side is also mrc.

 

Yes, I intended to say that the UV side is more abrasion resistant (also from Sean's comments in his review).

So, since this thread is about the Leica wide angle lens, I just thot I'd comment on all the subtexts in the postings -- asking for fast, wide lens(es). :)

 

Just think about it -- exactly where does Leica need to shore up their offerings? There are several 135's, 90's, 50's, 35's, 28's, 21's, let's see ... where can we go here?

TBH, I'm hard pressed to tell the two sides apart...

And we're letting you build our WATE filter/shade adapters? :cool:

 

Use the paper corner test:

 

Rest one corner of a piece of paper against the surface of the filter and look at the reflection of the paper.

 

If it's resting against the IR-coated side, the reflection and the actual paper will touch.

 

If it's resting against the other side, the reflection and the paper will be separated by the thickness of the glass.

 

Requires a couple tries to be sure.

Yes John it did and it is very nice indeed has very slight barrel to it but overall clean and very bright. Just got back from shooting all day , trying to catch up here but the more i use the WATE the more i like it and also liking the results from it
