wparsonsgisnet Posted March 20, 2007 Share #121 Posted March 20, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks, Howard. I read Bob's comment exactly backwards. I was confusing the mrc because I believe the IR-cut side is also mrc. Yes, I intended to say that the UV side is more abrasion resistant (also from Sean's comments in his review). Advertisement Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Hi wparsonsgisnet, Take a look here Testing the New WATE. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
marknorton Posted March 20, 2007 Share #122 Posted March 20, 2007 TBH, I'm hard pressed to tell the two sides apart...
wparsonsgisnet Posted March 20, 2007 Share #123 Posted March 20, 2007 So, since this thread is about the Leica wide angle lens, I just thot I'd comment on all the subtexts in the postings -- asking for fast, wide lens(es). Just think about it -- exactly where does Leica need to shore up their offerings? There are several 135's, 90's, 50's, 35's, 28's, 21's, let's see ... where can we go here? carstenw Posted March 20, 2007 Share #124 Posted March 20, 2007 21/4, 18/4, 15/4. Maybe some 2.8s too, but the 21/4 or 18/4 would be most interesting to me.
ho_co Posted March 20, 2007 Share #125 Posted March 20, 2007 TBH, I'm hard pressed to tell the two sides apart... And we're letting you build our WATE filter/shade adapters? Use the paper corner test: Rest one corner of a piece of paper against the surface of the filter and look at the reflection of the paper. If it's resting against the IR-coated side, the reflection and the actual paper will touch. If it's resting against the other side, the reflection and the paper will be separated by the thickness of the glass. Requires a couple tries to be sure. --HC
