Fgcm Posted September 27, 2012 Share #1 Posted September 27, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I found this video showing how to remove M6 top plate YouTube - Broadcast Yourself Be advised that M6 TTL is different. 1. Do not remove the hot shoe. 2. Do not remove the X Sync on the back of the top plate. To remove the top plate just unscrew the lever and the film rewind lever. It is advisable not to open the camera. Send it to a professional repair service or to Leica unless you are an experienced technician. Franco

jhild Posted November 16, 2012 Share #2 Posted November 16, 2012 I have done this several times for cleaning viewfinders inside. Special care is needed when finally lifting the top plate.Part of the electronics is fixed to the top plate under the hot shoe but connected with the camera electronics by some kind of flexible devise and a screw that is not easy to loose and remove. No metal screwdrivers should be used for this and when putting it all back together getting that screw back into place is even more difficult... However, with care it´s possible, it´s been made by man not machines Have fun Jo
