stump4545 Posted September 23, 2012 Share #1 Posted September 23, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) i have been using aperture3 and have taken many wide angle shots 21mm-24mm with people in them and the lens distortion is bothersome for sure. if i switch to LR and use the Lens correction tools, do these distortion problems go away? does LR4 have leica m lenses profiles? might have to go LR. thanks
Advertisement Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Hi stump4545, Take a look here LR and lens correction distortion. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ho_co Posted September 24, 2012 Share #2 Posted September 24, 2012 If you're speaking of people near the edges of the frame looking distorted, that's not "distortion" but perspective exaggeration. IOW, you're looking at the image from too far away. It's not a defect, but a normal result of the kind of projection used by general-purpose camera lenses. Since it isn't distortion (if I understand you correctly), Lightroom won't correct for it either.
LeicaBraz Posted September 25, 2012 Share #3 Posted September 25, 2012 Check the new Adobe plug-ins.
Bobitybob Posted September 25, 2012 Share #4 Posted September 25, 2012 There are LEICA M lens profiles in LR4 and in my experience they do have a visible impact on the image. Not sure if it will cure your problem, but you could try the demo version and see if it makes a difference for you.
