Adam H Posted September 15, 2012 Share #1 Posted September 15, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am a Lightroom and Siver Efex Pro user looking to switch from a PC to a MAC. Are there any issues I should be aware, specifically do all previous development adjustments come across or will I need to re develop old files? Thanks Adam

OwinThomas Posted September 15, 2012 Share #3 Posted September 15, 2012 If you're going from one version on the pc to the same version on the Mac, there should not be a problem. Your images will be treated the same. Generally Lightroom on a pc and a Mac work the same and apart from a few key differences, cntl and alt on a pc and command (Apple key) and option on the Mac there should be no major differences, The only problem I can foresee is the differences in HDD formats, although the Mac will be able to read the pc HDD without problems. Personally I would copy the files from the pc formatted HDD to a Mac formatted HDD.
Adam H Posted September 18, 2012 Author Share #4 Posted September 18, 2012 Thanks, both Looks like it should be straightforward. I keep the photos on an external hard drive so that should not complicate matters. I had a look at the new retina display on the Mac, the colours are very saturated / contrasty and I prefer the more natural look of the non retina. Will stick with LR3.
