rogera Posted September 2, 2012 Share #21 Â Posted September 2, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I own 2 R9's one mated with a DMR and the other for slides and film. I so love them and I have 12 accompanying lenses. I miss hearing the views of others users, both negative and positive about the system! I think my R9 absolutely triumphs over my Canon Eos 1 V and my DMR outdoes my Canon Mark II 1DS! Dont get me wrong both Canons are great and fun to use but I just love the R cameras. They are solid, balanced, uncomplicated and the viewfinders are wonderful! Please don't abandon me...;-)
Advertisement Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Hi rogera, Take a look here Poll: Leica R Forum?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
*j-w-m* Posted September 2, 2012 Share #22 Â Posted September 2, 2012 I vote yes. Even though I won't be using an R camera, I have 11 R lenses for use with a digital cinema camera. It would be nice to know where to go for R information.

bill Posted September 2, 2012 Share #25 Â Posted September 2, 2012 And that's the 50 up, a fine partnership at the crease by Angora and Farners, the latter of whom twirls his bat in recognition of the approving roar of the crowd here on this fine sunny day. They recognise the importance of the score; the run rate has been impressive. If the Forum team can keep this up to Phototea, we will have a great result on our hands. And now I'll make way for Geoffrey Boycott who, I'm sure we all recognise, is an R soul too. We will listen to him for the next four hours and then it will be time for the shipping forecast. I'll leave you at 51 for 0 dissenters... Â Regards, Â Bill
farnz Posted September 2, 2012 Share #26 Â Posted September 2, 2012 Oh no, not Boycs! The score might start going backwards ... Â Padded-up Pete.

duke8448 Posted September 3, 2012 Share #31 Â Posted September 3, 2012 I have a R8 and R9 with DMU. Its a cheaper alternative to playing with S2 unless the CS lens are here. A cheaper s2 body may increase sales from H2/V and Pentax lens users
dickgrafixstop Posted September 3, 2012 Share #32 Â Posted September 3, 2012 After the shabby treatment of R users by Leica, ignoring them on this forum would follow suit. That being the case, however, there is still tremendous interest in the R cameras/lenses and a section would certainly be appropriate.
Joop van Heijgen Posted September 3, 2012 Share #33 Â Posted September 3, 2012 Lifetime cameras like the Leicaflexes can use a R forum...
brandon walker Posted September 3, 2012 Share #34 Â Posted September 3, 2012 It certainly gets my vote, with or without an "R solution". Many of us have that currently in FF digital (EOS or Nikon), and/or use film in our R series. With no new literature from Leica on the lenses (since they dont sell them any more), and the demise of various forum over time, reviewers of equipment are understandably focused on the new gear for sale etc, and so the value to have an active R forum is frankly greater than one might expect. Bring it on!

Michael Geschlecht Posted September 4, 2012 Share #36  Posted September 4, 2012 Hello Everybody,  I have a question.  Before I voted in favor of the Leicaflex/Leica - R section (whatever it may eventually be called) I could read the names of the people who voted & which way their votes were cast. AS THE COMPUTER SAID EVERYONE CONCERNED WOULD BE ABLE TO DO.  After I finished voting I was no longer able to access that part of this Thread.  All I can access is numerical totals w/o names.  What did I do wrong?  Best Regards,  Michael  Who knows very little about computers. Michael Geschlecht Posted September 4, 2012 Share #38 Â Posted September 4, 2012 Hello Dave, Â It appears to me that John, a long time Reflex advocate, was responding positvely to your Post in a pleasantly ironical manner. Ruhayat Posted September 4, 2012 Share #39 Â Posted September 4, 2012 For a while, I quite enjoyed using my Leica R-E with my two R lenses - 28 and 50 - alongside my M6TTL and its 90mm Cron. Until the electronics on the R-E went wonky and it was too expensive to fix so I went to Contax SLR instead. Â Still use the 2 R lenses with my Pentax K5, after having gone through Olympus E1 (died) and Canon 5D (sold - too big). Right now the Ricoh GXR is close to what I think a Leica digital R solution ought to be, with its compact size and ability to take both M and R lenses. But the one from Leica should have a built-in EVF, and it would be almost perfect.
masjah Posted September 4, 2012 Share #40 Â Posted September 4, 2012 What on earth are you talking about? Â Dave, it's a rather English cricketing allusion. Boycott was well known for getting stuck in at the crease, not getting out, and grinding away for days. Utterly reliable, but not always the most exciting player to watch. Â For the record, Michael is absolutely right; I'm an ardent Leica R, film based user, and I wholeheartedly support this proposal!
