Advertisement Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Hi leicatraveller, Take a look here what about a voigtlander nokton 35mm 1.4?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
rondeb Posted August 21, 2012 Share #2 Posted August 21, 2012 Had one and really enjoyed it. Tiny for f1.4. I've since gotten a 'lux ASPH and it is a world of difference in clarity and rendering. It will not cure your desire for the Summilux, but it is a nice walk around lens with a classic rendering. I'd say give it a shot. Easy glass to sell if you change your mind. Same could be said of the Leica though, right? But the Leica, you will not sell. I toy - daily - about selling my Noctilux, but never the 35 'lux ASPH! fwiw Ron
macrobernd Posted August 21, 2012 Share #3 Posted August 21, 2012 I have got the Nokton 35 mm/1.4 MC (multicoated). It is a beautifull and fast lens for digital and film photography. I used it on my Zeiss Ikon and the M9. The only reason I am selling it now is my second 35mm lens - the Summilux ASPH. For some sample pictures look at http://www.flickr.com/photos/bhoppmann/sets/72157629329292181/with/6880928879/. All pictures where made with M9 and Nokton 35mm/1.4 excapt that one of the lion's head. Do I feel and see 3000 EURO difference between theese two lenses? I must say NO. Cheers, Bernd
TomB_tx Posted August 21, 2012 Share #4 Posted August 21, 2012 I also have the Nokton 35 1.4 MC, as well as my 1969 Summicron 35 and Zeiss Biogon 35 2.0. I got the Nokton for use in poor light, and agree its a bargain lens. I love the small size and general construction - very nice to use. At f1.4 and 2.0 I like the overall results better than my Summicron or Biogon. It does have more distortion, and stopping down some focus shift; but for most pictures I can't tell which of the three lenses took which shot. The best buy of the lot!
