Advertisement Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Hi David Freeman Photography, Take a look here Capture One or Lightroom 4 - for Leica Users. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
archi4 Posted August 21, 2012 Share #2 Posted August 21, 2012 I would suggest you try Capture One using the 30 day free trial. I have both and regularly switch depending on the file.
David Monkhouse Posted August 21, 2012 Share #3 Posted August 21, 2012 I would agree with the above comment. I have tried both and personally find Capture One the one that suits me best. I do all the RAW work with Capture One and crop and remove dust spots with Adobe Photoshop 7 although Capture One v,6.4.3 will do both. And you don't have to jump through hoops to reinstall the software in the event of a computer disaster, you can re download from the Capture One server without hassle... andybarton Posted August 21, 2012 Share #4 Posted August 21, 2012 You can download Lightroom at any time from the Adobe website and use the serial number provided by Leica.
sblitz Posted August 22, 2012 Share #5 Posted August 22, 2012 I use Capture One pretty much exclusively, nothing against the others, I just find it easier for me.
Jeff S Posted August 22, 2012 Share #6 Posted August 22, 2012 Each iteration of each product improves on its predecessor. And each now is fully capable technically for meeting most photographer's needs. It generally comes down to personal preference and familiarity. I have older version of PS and C1 on my system, but generally rely on LR 4 for most of my current needs. Others here have taken a different path and struggle with LR, and those probably already got comfortable with PS and/or C1 at some point. Just different strokes (literally in some cases).
