I also have a Hasselblad V system and would like ,if ,possible to use the Hasselblad V system les on the Leica M mount

Being new I apologize if this questions has been asked previously

Looking forward to using my new Leica

Welome on the Forum. Great camera, the Leica M6. Here is a combo I made of the Hasselblad 500/8 and the Leica M9, using the Visoflex III.

Given the flange-film distance of the Hasselblad V system, there is little space for conversion to the Visoflex. Without the Visoflex, focussing is very hard.

Bert was faster.

In terms of registry (distance between lens flange and film plane) medium format system lens would be compatible with smaller M system however you will be at disadvantage of not having focus coupling and framing will be difficult. I am not aware of adapter that will connect V lens to M camera but it is only a tube with bayonets at both ends, not impossible to fabricate or achieve by coupling MF->SLR & SLR->M adaptors together.

Widest angle MF lens are equivalent of Leica normal FL, you will be struggling to achieve sharp focus even with zone focusing. Realistically for any V lens be it longer or shorter only use of Visoflex reflex housing would give you working solution.

In conclusion not impossible but awkward.

Welcome Aboard. I'm curious why you don't use your Blad kit as a Blad kit & leave it at that. Most of film work (90%) is with my Hasselblad kits. I use my M3 & M2 for night work by pushing Tri X 400 to 1600.

The whole idea of the M system is that it can go anywhere, be discreet, if not entirely stealth. It's such a small form factor, quiet & light.

Can you kindly talk us through what we are looking at especially between the Hassy 500 and the Visoflex? Thanks.

I'm always intrigued by the abbreviating of camera and lens (etc) names, like Lux, Cron etc. And Blad. Which interestingly enough means Leaf in many Nordic languages.

Rather funny considering the digital back manufacturer's name.

Naturally.

From left to right, a Leica M9, a Visoflex III, an adapter ring (homemade) and the later 500/8 Hasselblad lens.

Since the existing Hasselblad converter ring I have is too thick to fit between the visoflex and Hasselblad lens for focussing, I decided to make an aluminium plate that is fixed to the tripod mount of the visoflex and to that of the Hasselblad lens. The part that connects to the lens has an elongated hole to make the fit tight. Between the visoflex and the lens is a plastic Leica body cap that I milled back to get the correct thickness for infinity focus and I removed the plastic inside the outer ring of the cap to allow the light to come through from the lens through the visoflex into the camera.

It was more out of curiosity that I made this fit, to see what image quality I could get this way compared to old Visoflex long lenses. The quality is stunning, especially fine detail and contrast.

Although being an experimental solution, it is stable enough to be used in this way regularly.

Here's the combo with a Leica M (T240). Makes life a lot easier with the liveview. As a bonus, the shuttervibration is less than that of the M9. From left to right Leica M (T240) body with Leica VF2, Leica Macro adapter, homemade adapter from Leica M to Hasselblad V, Hasselbad 500/8 CF Tele-ApoTessar.

Dear friends, I need a help. I want to use the Hasselblad V lens, 80mm f2.8 CB on my Leica M with an adapter to get that famous, excellent medium format look (especially that famous MF depth, pentagon-type bokeh in the out of focus plane). I did research  a lot. I saw some images taken with this lens and Kipon Bavyes 0.7 Focal Reducer. But not so many, and all of them were taken with other cameras. Is there anyone here to show us that look on the Leica M images? People especially like this adapter Kipon Baveyes Focal reducer. Is this adapter really any good, work, or create that MF feel in the photographs? Your replies will be greatly appreciated.
