Guest gamincurieux Posted August 23, 2012 Share #3 Posted August 23, 2012 According to your list the Zeiss Biogon T* 2,8/21 ZM should be coded as Leica #11135 (Elmarit-M 21mm f/2.8 ASPH)....... #11135? Are you sure?

jaapv Posted August 23, 2012 Share #5 Posted August 23, 2012 According to your list the Zeiss Biogon T* 2,8/21 ZM should be coded as Leica #11135 (Elmarit-M 21mm f/2.8 ASPH)....... #11135? Are you sure?It is the best code for the M8, for the M9 the 11134 code works better.
Guest gamincurieux Posted August 23, 2012 Share #6 Posted August 23, 2012 Mm ok, well I've already sent to lenscodes@l-camera-forum.com a couple of days ago a table that Zeiss sent to me, which lists all their ZM lenses & the Leica profiles/codes they say they work best with.... guess you've not seen that yet? #11135 is not recommended at all for the ZM 21/2,8...... a few different ones are, with one 'best' one, but not #11135. farnz Posted August 25, 2012 Share #7 Posted August 25, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) It seems to me that the photo at top left should be rotated through 180 degrees so the codes are at 12 o'clock to agree with Carston's text. I have emailed lenscodes@l-camera-forum.com. Pete.
andybarton Posted August 25, 2012 Author Share #8 Posted August 25, 2012 Please can I just confirm that I was originally hosting this table as a favour to the community. It's not my table and I was even having difficulty editing it. It has now been taken over permanently by Andreas who is at the end of the email address given and who has kindly taken over the management of it. I have no input into this.
scott kirkpatrick Posted August 28, 2012 Share #9 Posted August 28, 2012 (edited) I've sent Andreas the code (110011) for the new 21/3.4 Super Elmar, which is not in the table. I got it from a not quite clear picture on PopPhoto, but have confirmed it by inspection of an actual lens. The picture at the top should indeed be rotated 180 degrees. It looks like a 75/2,0 APO which should have the code 100100. Upside down, it might be read 001001. scott Edited August 28, 2012 by scott kirkpatrick
richfx Posted September 16, 2012 Share #10 Posted September 16, 2012 Can you please post the Zeiss table / list or a link to it? Thanks, Rich
farnz Posted September 16, 2012 Share #11 Posted September 16, 2012 There's no Zeiss table or list that I'm aware of because they're not Leica lenses. Leica would be unlikely to assign codes to lenses manufactured by its competitors. If you want to code a Zeiss wide-angle lens to benefit from vignetting and colour correction you'll need to pick a Leica lens with similar focal length and maximum aperture, apply that and take your chances. Pete.

wlaidlaw Posted September 19, 2012 Share #14 Posted September 19, 2012 Is there a code now for the 135/3.4 Apo Telyt, since that is an approved and current production lens for the M9. I would like to hand code my 135 T-E as the above lens, since I keep forgetting to change to manual coding, given that all my other non-Viso lenses are now either properly coded or working hand coded. I have tried hand coding as a 135 Elmarit-M (spec's lens) but that does not seem to pick up, as that lens brings up the 28/90 frame against the 135 T-E brings up the 35/135 frame, like the Apo-Telyt. monophoto Posted September 19, 2012 Share #15 Posted September 19, 2012 Being a new Leica user and having recently bought an M8 with a 50mm Summicron i would like to use the templates which i have copied onto acetate, but what is the "product code" and what does "frames " refer to....probably being really dim here. Thanks anyway in advance. lct Posted September 19, 2012 Share #16 Posted September 19, 2012 ...what is the "product code" and what does "frames " refer to... "Frames" are the frame lines you bring up when you mount one lens on your M8: "50/75" for your Summicron 50 for instance. "Product #" is what Leica call "Order No" in their lens coding leaflet here: http://tinyurl.com/cp4bsqr.
wlaidlaw Posted September 20, 2012 Share #17 Posted September 20, 2012 Just found the code on another thread - it is 001010 reading clockwise round the back of the lens. It worked first time on hand coding - I must be getting better at this, finally. I will add this to the Wiki. Wilson Welcome, dear visitor! wlaidlaw Posted September 20, 2012 Share #18 Posted September 20, 2012 That code for the 135/f3.4 does not pick up on the M8. Now I know from long experience that the M8's IR sensors are much fussier than the M9's ones, so I don't know if this is a "feature" on the M8 or my less than 100% accurate hand coding. I would be interested to hear other's experience. Wilson
monophoto Posted September 20, 2012 Share #19 Posted September 20, 2012 Thanks for that I didn't know that the serial and product numbers were different and I have found the product code now thank you, and the frames lines are what I thought they might be but ..... Seemed too obvious. Thanks again for your help
