Pedoscope X-ray apparatus - Shoe-Fitting Fluoroscope

In 1949, the danger of the fluoroscope was revealed and the machines in the United States were quietly phased out during the 1950s.

I found this pedoscope at the museum of the Walter.Reed.Army-Hospital, Washington DC.

A nice pair. I can remember these machines being used when I was a little guy back in the early 1950's. That brings back memories.

I too can remember them in children's show stores. Nice shots.

I remember them as well, in a Sears & Roebuck store! I was too short to get more than a quick green glimpse of my own feet... so far no 'extra' toes have grown. Jim
