How to upload images: Prepare the image as follows: 1.   The image should be sRGB and 8-bits 2.   Reduce the size to 2480 pixels on the longest side. (smaller sizes can be set, but are not recommended) 3.   Sharpen properly for screen. 4.   Save as JPG to your desktop, reducing JPG quality to produce 2000 kB (5000 kB for sponsoring members). 5.   In Lightroom these parameters should be set in the Export dialog. 6.   In the Forum posting or editing box, click “c

I actually sold my X1 a while back. The image quality was great, but the autofocus was a problem (for me). With the X2, happy to have a Leica X again; the issues with the X1 were resolved, and the image quality on the X2 is still great.

That guy Steve Huff (camera reviewer) has said the Leica X2 is not as sharp as the Leica X1. Can someone here confirm that statement? Can you take a picture with the X1 and the X2 and put them side by side and confirm the X1 is better in the IQ dept.

 

I would appreciate this.

Turns out, he had a faulty, pre-production firmware model. He acquired a second X2, through retail, and found that the sharpness is much better in the second copy.

Had a little more time with my X2 today, so grabbed some shots while out and about. These were JPGs, straight from the camera, with no post-processing of any kind (other than to resize to meet forum requirements). If any perspective X2 buyers are considered about sharpness or general image quality with the X2, don't be. Image quality is outstanding.
