FlashGordonPhotography Posted May 28, 2012 Share #3 Posted May 28, 2012 That's bizarre. I'd do a full remove and reinstall of LR4 including all the camera profiles. I'm using LR4 and I definately don't have this issue. Did you references the original file from the same location? If you used LR to copy the files (to two separate locations) then the LR4 import may have corrupted the files as they were copied. Gordon
johnbuckley Posted May 29, 2012 Share #4 Posted May 29, 2012 Thank Heavens you checked LR3, as the other alternative would have been... Well, just thank Heavens it's a software problem. And good luck.
IWC Doppel Posted May 29, 2012 Author Share #5 Posted May 29, 2012 I'll try to reinstall, the strange thing is all my LR3 pictures have mapped over with no issues this is when importing a 'new' picture, very strange...... I did have a little panic !
jaapv Posted May 29, 2012 Share #6 Posted May 29, 2012 Check your card reader too. It looks like a read/write error. Did you have demanding programs running in the background when you were working on these files?
IWC Doppel Posted May 29, 2012 Author Share #7 Posted May 29, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Tks I'll check the reader card, but this was used on all prior LR3 imports and the LR4 and LR3 above. I had a few things running but it is a quad core 16 G ram iMac only 18m old, so quite powerful.
k-hawinkler Posted May 29, 2012 Share #8 Posted May 29, 2012 You also could use an USB cable to eliminate the card reader as an error source. Do you also get these lines when displaying the images in Preview?
wda Posted May 29, 2012 Share #9 Posted May 29, 2012 Do they show on the camera monitor?
lm_user Posted May 29, 2012 Share #10 Posted May 29, 2012 I had similar issues when using the USB port on the camera for downloading the images. The USB port on the front of the computer yielded random purple horizontal lines (not all the way across like yours). The USB port on the back of the computer did not produce any purple lines. I attributed these results to a bad USB port. LR4 may be attempting to communicate with the card faster than LR3??? Good luck.
IWC Doppel Posted May 31, 2012 Author Share #11 Posted May 31, 2012 I think it is the card reader, I am finding these lines on both LR3 and LR4 now, I had a few 'clean' image shots putting the card directly into my IMAC, I'll firm up and see if I have 'solved' it ! StephenPatterson Posted June 2, 2012 Share #12 Posted June 2, 2012 I think it is the card reader...! Thank goodness, you scared me half to death!!!
tobey bilek Posted June 2, 2012 Share #13 Posted June 2, 2012 Thank Heavens you checked LR3, as the other alternative would have been... Well, just thank Heavens it's a software problem. And good luck. Yes yes Try reimporting that image. I dislike moving files because of fragmentation problems and other issues. I do not like using programs that require a library.
