How interesting that the serial numbers are not as worn as the rest of the engravings.

The 1 078 788 is not on my list of Black M3

Both Laney and Puts list the 1078501-1078800 as a batch of "lackiert" and not "shwarz lackiert" as they do for others... don't know how exactly what they mean for this... what is sure is that if anyone wants to disguise a "self.modified" Leica usually puts the right attention to the s/n to engrave on it... examples abound.
