Keith (M) Posted May 2, 2012 Share #1 Posted May 2, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Had to test my M4 this week as it has just been returned from having the shutter curtains repaired. Summaron 35mm f2.8. Took the opportunity to try a new (to me) film/dev combination, Tri-X and Rodinal R09. The Tri-X was exposed as ISO 320 and developed in the R09 @ 1+50 for 11 mins 45 secs. C+C welcomed.

pauledell Posted May 2, 2012 Share #2 Posted May 2, 2012 Keith, A fine picture with excellent tones and clarity. This looks like a good film/developer combination. Paul
kokoshawnuff Posted May 2, 2012 Share #3 Posted May 2, 2012 Agreed. Wonderful tones, worth another try with this film/dev combo.
Keith (M) Posted May 2, 2012 Author Share #4 Posted May 2, 2012 Thank you for the comments. Rodinal is certainly worth persevering with. The problem with Tri-X is it's propensity to 'bow', making it difficult to scan. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
StS Posted May 2, 2012 Share #5 Posted May 2, 2012 I like the very classic look and the composition. The look of the sky and clouds imply filtering. I just made very good experiences scanning Tri-X exposed at 320 ASA while having the development time reduced by 10%. Stefan

Keith (M) Posted May 3, 2012 Author Share #7 Posted May 3, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I like the very classic look and the composition. The look of the sky and clouds imply filtering. Thanks. Usually I do have a medium yellow filter fitted, but this time I did not so was quite surprised at the way the clouds have been captured. I just made very good experiences scanning Tri-X exposed at 320 ASA while having the development time reduced by 10%. Stefan That is exactly the method I used too. The film exposed at ISO 320 and then the Massive Dev chart time of 13 minuted for ISO 400 reduced by 10% to 11mins 45secs.
Alexander Charles Posted May 6, 2012 Share #8 Posted May 6, 2012 Very nice photo. It looks like a classic 1960's-era photo that property developers would have taken of their new building once it was completed to hang in their office.
