LeicaBraz Posted May 1, 2012 Share #1  Posted May 1, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am a happy and still learning user of Lightroom 4. But reading this forum, it seems that at one moment or other one could want to learn Photoshop, as possibilties are enlarged. Thus was wondering whether Elements 10 was a good intermediate step (for 1/8 th of the price) as it also works with "layers". I do remember some forum member mentioned this as an option (Elements 10, I mean). Seems it also comes bundled up with a good archiving program.  Any comments/opinions welcome.  Thanks  p.s.: and the "layer" concept is a mystery to me, by the way. LeicaBraz Posted May 1, 2012 Author Share #3 Â Posted May 1, 2012 Thanks; I know that. The question is if somebody with experience in both Elements and Photoshop recommeds this step. I could also download Photoshop for a trial, I guess.
jaapv Posted May 1, 2012 Share #4 Â Posted May 1, 2012 Elements is a good step-up to Photoshop. It does not offer many advantages over Lightroom imo. If you really want to get into it, you will upgrade to a full version at one point of time.
