MichaelM6 Posted April 30, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted April 30, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm very excited to give the film world a go in the next couple of weeks. I'm currently winning an auction for a nice looking black M6 and I'm looking at adding a Zeiss 50 f/2... Â I'm coming from shooting with a Canon 5Dm2 and I just want something more organic, more analog. More fun. I can't wait to feel like a beginner. Â So I have a question about where and how to have film or negatives processed and developed. I'm considering a negative scanner - is that the best way to digitize images, or should I just have my film developed and put onto a disc by some photo lab? How do you guys go about this? I'd still like to post images to facebook and my flickr account. Â Thanks, Â Michael

Fgcm Posted April 30, 2012 Share #2 Â Posted April 30, 2012 Hi Michael, wellcome to the forum. Â Go step by step. Â First, use just a few films. If you use to many, you never learn none of them. Â For bw, you can proces your self or you can start with cromogen bw (to be developed as color negative -c41 process - ask your dealer). Â For color you will get good color with no troubles using slides. Negatives can be more difficult. Â Start having film processed and scanned in a lab. Then, step by step, you will do your self all steps but slides developing (Too triky to do home). Â Enjoy film and do not think Too much. Try, try, and try again.
