IWC Doppel Posted April 30, 2012 Share #1 Posted April 30, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I will hopefully be passing my M8 on to a close friend, I bought this from another friend so it should stay in the family, so to speak I'll make sure I don't desert the M8 section ! Looking forward to seeing just how wide 21mm will be !

LeicaMSeattle Posted June 20, 2012 Share #6 Posted June 20, 2012 I will hopefully be passing my M8 on to a close friend, I bought this from another friend so it should stay in the family, so to speak I'll make sure I don't desert the M8 section ! Looking forward to seeing just how wide 21mm will be ! I am also looking at replacing my M8U with 85,768 actuations an M9-P just because it has the Vulcanite cover as well as the sapphire glass, like my M8U. I hope it's worth the considerable amount of money more for it and full frame images.
IWC Doppel Posted June 20, 2012 Author Share #7 Posted June 20, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) So far I have taken about 2k pictures with my M9-P Thoughts so far : Moving to FF is wonderful to use all the glass and satisfy my desire for wide and fast (35 FOV at 1.4 would be very expensive on the 8) The one stop extra performance on the ISO is greatly appreciated Really like the colour density/saturation vs the M8 Appeeciate how the 9 is evolution not revolution (thankfully) Love the look in black paint The image on the back viewfinder is worse ! Like the ISO button Not sure I need 8mp more Prefer the shutter noise Miss 1/8000th (have bought an ND filter for my 35/28) No longer check e-bay / dealers daily ! Looking forward to thousands more pictures
carbon_dragon Posted June 21, 2012 Share #8 Posted June 21, 2012 the M8 has IR photography capability that the M9 doesn't. Try it and you might decide to keep it.
