Pintpot Posted April 28, 2012 Share #1 Posted April 28, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Today, on a lovely walk M8, 15mmC/V +IR filter, hence the vignetting as the filter gets in the way. Thanks for looking, comments welcome
Advertisement Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Hi Pintpot, Take a look here On the way to Tandle Hill15mm IR. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pauledell Posted April 28, 2012 Share #2 Posted April 28, 2012 Tony, An excellent shot with perfect composition, lovely tones and sharpness. I feel the IR filter has rendered the lowest values of the water in the lower left of the picture too dark. There is virtually no detail in that area. jpattison Posted April 29, 2012 Share #4 Posted April 29, 2012 Tony, You are getting really good IR shots, this one suits the extreme wide angle. John
Pintpot Posted April 30, 2012 Author Share #5 Posted April 30, 2012 Thanks gentlemen! Paul you are right, but it's mostly the result of the cut off from the filter and that area was in shadow. I shall try 'Cornerfix' - that may help. Again - thanks for all your kind comments.
leicamann Posted May 1, 2012 Share #6 Posted May 1, 2012 Nice shot, but a few things come to mind 1) vignetting can easily be remove now via the Photoshop/ Lens Filter 2) the image lacks the "snowy whites" of a classic IR image 3) even though it looks underexposed, within RAW, you have lots of wiggle room to" bring it back", if you shot jpeg..well thats too bad 4) always when doing a shoot with IR, bracket your exposures, don't be a "one shot Johnny".... its digital, so waste away, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain 5) the more you experiment, the more you will learn, IR can result in some stunning results 6) unlike an ordinary shoot, sunny days are not favorable, but for IR the brighter the light, the better the results 7) remember there are many beautiful IR filters made by not only Leica, but B&W, Schneider Kreutzach etc Have fun and thanks for sharing 8) now you got me going......gotta go out and do some, its been too long!! Cheers, JRM
Pintpot Posted May 1, 2012 Author Share #7 Posted May 1, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Cheers Leicaman I think this is what you are after, taken at least a year ago I'll try the tip in lightroom - thanks! I use the Heliopan 695 IR filter - mostly as I can shoot without a tripod
