I am new to the form and wanted to get people's opinions on the Fuji X Pro 1 and how you think it compares to the Leica? From the many shots I have seen with both cameras the Leica seems to continuously turn out better looking pictures although the Fuji seems to have some real advantages. I like the convienence of video, the better image quality at high ISO, and it seems even a little sharper and to have more detail some of the time (though both cameras are very close. The Fuji does not have as deep colors as the M9 and it does not seem to give that film like look and quality but it does seem to have plenty of color and perhaps an even slightly larger spectrum and pallet.

If I could afford an M9 right now Id own one but I am curious if anyone here who knows their stuff and explain to me the difference in quality of the two camers. I know there is the different sensor, the different way they record and organize the image color information and then also the glass.. but am wondering if anyone can shed some more light on the image quality differences and how they relate to the design of the cameras.

Sorry to come out with some tough indepth questions, but that is what brought me here!

This is for the digital forum probably

Your analysis of the xpro-1 is incorrect

The M9 is FF, so more DOF play. It also has the Leica lenses to fit.

It is manual focus and has a very basic workflow which many people love.

It is also built better then the xpro-1, more like jewellery

However the xpro-1 sensor is better in every aspect expect FF. Your analysis of colours and look are incorrect. The lenses Fuji has released are excellent. Better IMHO then the canon and Nikon equivalent. The quality of the fuji at 6400 is equivalent to the M9 at 640,

They are different cameras with a different experience and can actually compliment each other. Both can be used as someone's main camera, both turn out spectacular pictures.
