Timmyjoe Posted April 25, 2012 Share #3 Posted April 25, 2012 Larry, that's fantastic. Mind sharing how you souped the negs and what scanner you used. Always fascinated by great B&W images shot on film.
likalar Posted April 26, 2012 Author Share #4 Posted April 26, 2012 Thank you, both! Tim, this was most likely Edwal FG-7 or Rodinal, on reels in a ss 4 reel tank. The scanner is a recently purchased Plustex Opticfilm 7600i. I can't rave about this scanner. I was expecting more from it. Maybe it's just me, but I'm thinking it's good enough for monitor screen images, but not so good for prints. The dark tones block up with rough texture, and scans just don't seem very sharp or lively. But maybe my film is not very sharp or lively. It's not a high-end scanner, so I got what I paid for, so therefor can't really complain. But I did anyway! Larry
Adji.AP Posted April 26, 2012 Share #5 Posted April 26, 2012 Sorry for a bit off topic. For me, 7600i does pretty good for its price. 95% of my photos posted here were scanned using this scanner. Plus I don't have enough space on my wall to hang printed photos, nor art gallery to exhibit my pictures What do you suggest for higher-end scanner ? but not the lab grade, such as the drums one
stuny Posted April 26, 2012 Share #6 Posted April 26, 2012 Larry - Excellent. This is the only "Hud" I've encountered other than the Paul Newman character.
