IWC Doppel Posted April 19, 2012 Share #1 Posted April 19, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Do you think we will ever see Leica produce a 35mm f1 ?
Advertisement Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Hi IWC Doppel, Take a look here 35mm Noctilux. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
UliWer Posted April 19, 2012 Share #2 Posted April 19, 2012 May be we would see it in production, but we wouldn't see much looking through the M viewfinder, as this lens would block most of it.
FlashGordonPhotography Posted April 19, 2012 Share #3 Posted April 19, 2012 Would it block less or more than the 50 0.95? I thought it would be less. Gordon
jaapv Posted April 20, 2012 Share #4 Posted April 20, 2012 It might block less of the viewfinder, but more of the area of the frame.
Messsucherkamera Posted April 20, 2012 Share #5 Posted April 20, 2012 Given the current price of the f/0.95 Noctilux, I shudder to think what the price of a 35mm f/0.95 ASPH would be - every bit of $15,000US would be my guess.
jaques Posted April 20, 2012 Share #6 Posted April 20, 2012 voigtlander managed to make a fantastic 35 f1.2 which I was able to secure new for 1200usd... the lens is not too big- and the blockage that is present is not too serious for me at all. It focuses to .5m- and is built wonderfully- in Japan- by no means a low cost country...

IWC Doppel Posted April 21, 2012 Author Share #8 Posted April 21, 2012 If Leica could make a 35 f1.0, it was as good as good comapatively stopped down as the 50mm Noctiliux and it was £10k I would still be interested I might be persuaded to sell my current lenses and focus on one or two focal lengths. A total lens kit of one 35 Noctilux and perhaps one 50......... It would solve viewfinder challenges too
